The People Behind Alma.

Our leadership and management team reflects the Texas spirit at the heart of Alma. With alumni of the University of Houston, the University of Texas, and Texas A&M University, our team brings together a shared commitment to excellence, hospitality, education, and service.

Together, our team carries forward the Alma tradition—creating an experience where great food, genuine hospitality, and a strong sense of community come together.

Our Team

Roy Marquez

Roy is an entrepreneur, restaurateur, and family man based in Houston. He is a graduate of the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership and is passionate about hospitality, building strong teams, creating memorable guest experiences, and continually improving the businesses he is involved in.

Roy values hard work, loyalty, family, and treating people with respect. He is always looking for the next opportunity to grow, learn, and build something meaningful.

Roy has always said, “If I can get you to come into our restaurant, I’ll take care of the rest.”

That’s what hospitality means to him. Marketing, word of mouth, or curiosity may bring people through the door, but genuine hospitality, great food, and thoughtful service give guests a reason to return.

Getting customers through the door is the first opportunity. Earning their loyalty is the real job.

Sheree Marquez

Owner / Creative Director

Sheree is a proud University of Houston alumna with a background in Psychology and Social Research. Her education has been an invaluable foundation for Alma. Every day, she draws on critical thinking, human interaction, research, and analysis to make thoughtful business decisions, develop our team, understand our guests, and navigate an industry centered around people. Hospitality is ultimately about human connection, she believes listening, observing, and understanding others are among the most valuable skills a leader can have.

“I believe restaurants have a unique opportunity to do more than serve food—we can bring people together, strengthen our communities, and use our resources to help others.”

Sheree takes the responsibility to give back as not only an obligation but a privilege. Working with local charities that support families experiencing food insecurity and organizations that promote childhood literacy is usually where she focuses her efforts .

General Manager

Isaac is passionate about hospitality, leadership, and creating experiences that bring people together. A University of Houston Bauer College of Business alumnus, Isaac believes that taking care of people goes beyond great food—it’s about making every guest feel welcomed, valued, and at home.

To Isaac, hospitality starts with the little things. A warm welcome, a familiar face, a table filled with good food, or simply making someone’s day a little better can turn an ordinary visit into a memorable one.

“Great food fills the table, but great hospitality fills the room.”

For Isaac, leadership is about accountability, consistency, and setting the example.

A Texas A&M University graduate, Rosa brings a creative perspective to marketing and brand storytelling at Alma. Her work focuses on shaping Alma’s visual identity, creating meaningful experiences, and finding new ways for guests to connect with the restaurant and its community.

She believes that great marketing is about more than getting people through the door. It’s about capturing what makes a place special and giving people a reason to remember it, talk about it, and come back.

Bringing Alma’s story to life, one moment at a time.”

For Rosa, every detail is an opportunity to tell Alma’s story. Her goal is to capture those moments and turn them into lasting connections with the Alma brand.
